Bude & District U3A holds 10 OPEN MONTHLY MEETINGS a year with a Speaker. These are held at 2.30pm at the Parkhouse Centre, Bude on the 3rd Thursday of every month except October (our Annual General Meeting) and December (our Christmas Festivity).
The OPEN MONTHLY MEETINGS are free and include refreshments.
Visitors are welcome to come along to a meeting to see what we do and to decide whether they would like to join us.
This month, we had planned to witness a performance by our own Drama Group. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances they have had to cancel their performance.
However, we have been lucky enough to get Paul Clark to give us a talk on:-
Human Rights Monitoring in Palestine and Israel
In 2016, Paul left his family and friends behind for 3 months and went to Palestine and Israel as a human rights monitor. This first time, he was based in Jerusalem and found that amazing. Last November, however, he was invited to return for another period of 3 months and worked in Bethlehem this second time which was just as amazing as before. He will share many of his experiences with us as, just for example, he monitored Palestinians travelling to their places of work or education and worked with some incredible Israeli peace activists.
