For our 5th September walk, Ray led us on a lovely cliff-top walk around Pentire Head, near Polzeath.
We started the walk from the National Trust Lead Mines car park, then headed north to the coast, joining the Southwest Coast Path and continuing along it to The Rump where we stopped for our picnic lunch. The view was outstanding, looking back to North Cornwall across The Mouls island. The whole walk had proceeded at a relaxed pace to allow Dave and Sally to spot and identify for us a selection of sea birds and wildflowers. We had the occasional view of a seal, with a fleeting glimpse for some of a pod of dolphins.
The walk continued along the coast path to Pentire Haven, where we turned inland to return to our cars.
