Open Monthly Meeting

April 19, 2018 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Bude & District U3A holds 10 OPEN MONTHLY MEETINGS a year with a Speaker. These are held at 2.30pm at the Parkhouse Centre, Bude on the 3rd Thursday of every month except October (our Annual General Meeting) and December (our Christmas Festivity).

The OPEN MONTHLY MEETINGS are free and include refreshments.

Visitors are welcome to come along to a meeting to see what we do and to decide whether they would like to join us.

This month’s presentation will be by Brian Freeland, and is entitled

George Bernard Shaw: Playing the Clown

Brian previously gave us a great talk entitled “A View From The Wings” in September 2016.

This presentation will be completely different inasmuch that “playing the Clown” is a performance, not a talk.

Brian will entertain and inform us on the life of George Bernard Shaw, the writer and philosopher. With just a few props Brian will morph seamlessly from his role of narrator to that of the great man himself. His English voice will transform into a higher Irish brogue to deliver the ideas, thoughts and clever witticism of GBS, capturing the humour and spirit of Shaw.

Our Garden Group will be holding its annual plant sale at this meeting.
