Gardening Group: Wednesday 4th March

Cherubeer Gardens

Our first stop by 12.30 was at the Ram’s Head Inn, South St., Dolton, Devon EX19 8QS where the twenty four of us sat at two long tables organised especially for us. Our pre-ordered lunches were bought to us by friendly & helpful staff. The food was very good, as was the chance to catch up with friends with good chats.

We then drove on to Cherubeer Gardens, Higher Cherubeer, Dolton, Winkleigh, Devon, EX19 8PP where we were welcomed by the owners & in a barn given an introductory talk about the one acre garden which has been developed since 1991.

We enjoyed our walk along gravel paths around many varied beds full of such a variety of plants. Lots of colours & shapes from so many flowers, shrubs & trees. Also three greenhouses full of various flowering pot plants.

After our garden exploration, we were welcomed back to a barn with two circles of chairs & treated to drinks & homemade cakes & more good chats.
