Park House Garden, Liddaton

On a sunny day twenty five of us met up at the Fox and Grapes pub, Tinhay, Devon for our pre-ordered lunches.   Delicious food and a good opportunity to chat with friends.

After lunch we drove on for a few miles to the Park House garden, Liddaton, Coryton, Okehampton.   A National Garden Scheme garden opened especially for us.

We were joined by three more of our members and greeted by owner Roger Jennings who gave us a brief talk about the history of the garden then accompanied us round this very varied three-acre garden in the beautiful Lyd valley with views of Dartmoor, to answer our questions.

A meadow with mown paths links the naturalistic part of the garden with traditional herbaceous borders with a beautiful collection of plants.  There was also an orchard, vegetable garden and productive polytunnel.

After the lovely walk we were invited to sit outside to enjoy refreshments and chats.
