Trewithen Gardens

Bude U3A Gardening group   Wed. 3rd. April ‘19

On this kind weather day 34 of us met at Trewithen, Grampound, near Truro in the garden’s Tea Shed café for our pre-ordered lunches.

Collected everyone’s £5.00 group entry (instead or £8.50 for others!).

After our enjoyable lunches & chats we set off to explore the historic private estate, owned by the same family for 304 years.

Along the woodland paths, many beautiful Camellias, Magnolias & Rhododendrons in flower. Also such a variety of so many mature trees including 24 champion trees, measured by Tree Register & being the tallest or having the largest diameter of their type. Along various paths three wooden viewing platforms.

There is also a walled garden with some colour & lots of plants to look forward to. Nearby, a Red Squirrel Conservation pen with two lively squirrels.

Back to the Tea Shed for drinks & delicious cakes!
